Happy Thursday,Earlier this week, the DOJ announced that it was settling its lawsuit against Trump and his mutant family for tax crimes. The case was about to head to court, where it likely would have faced major legal obstacles, mostly because they case boiled down to this: Plaintiff: Donald Trump (DOJ) vs. Defendant: Donald Trump (IRS) A $10 BILLION dollar lawsuit over the IRS leaking tax documents related to Trump and others. The leaker had already been prosecuted, found guilty, and incarcerated.
The Republican-controlled Congress, of course, did nothing to stop this, essentially handing over its oversight responsibilities for nothing. So, as expected, Trump’s personal lawyer-turned-acting attorney general settled the case for $1.7 billion in taxpayer money AND an executive order protecting Trump, his family, and his businesses from ever being audited or investigated again—something you totally ask for if you have nothing to hide. We are in the Upside Down. Trump doesn’t even give a shit about the midterms; otherwise, he would have waited until after the election to execute this heist. This is, in my view, among the most corrupt acts committed by a public official in modern American history. Any MAGAT or “independent” who shrugs this off and files it under “all politicians are corrupt” is a fucking dunce. The magnitude and scope of this brazen fleecing cannot be understated. Hunter Biden, Somali day cares, Nancy Pelosi trades— all of them are pennies compared to the billions being thrown around here. I know I hammer on DOGE and Elon pretty frequently, but this makes me feel like even that isn’t enough. I personally had people message me or tell me they were open to seeing Elon “shake things up,” “rein in” the federal deficit, and protect their tax dollars from being “spent on illegals.” Well, once again, fuck their ignorant dumb faces. Even if they are speaking out against this settlement now, what the fuck did we all tell you was going to happen? Perhaps even more frustrating is the “politics doesn’t matter” crowd, who are sitting on the sidelines while willfully ignoring what is going on. These are the same people worried about layoffs, gas prices, and cost of living, all while remaining trapped in their own little worlds. So who is this slush fund for? According to the Justice Department, it is explicitly for Trump’s political allies and friends—or anyone who’s been wrongly targeted for “political, personal or ideological reasons,” particularly by the Biden administration. AKA: January 6 insurrectionists, grifters, and rightfully prosecuted white-collar criminals who pledge allegiance to the orange man. Maybe by giving them millions, J6rs wont look so poor anymore. And for the final insult, the DOJ stipulated that “it has no liability whatsoever for the protection or safeguarding of those funds, regardless of bank failure, fraudulent transfers, or any other fraud or misuse of the funds.” I will note that there are Democrats attempting to stop the fund’s creation, or at least install some oversight. The clock is ticking, and I imagine the Trump regime is working tirelessly to get this thing off the ground before midterms in true smash-and-grab fashion. I can’t even begin to think about how a Democratic super-majority would go about seizing any funds distributed prior to coming into power, and it’s not like SCOTUS is going to suddenly turn on Trump anytime soon.
